FrostWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing program for the Gnutella and BitTorrent protocols. FrostWire is written in Java, and is a fork of LimeWire, another popular Gnutella client. Released under the GNU General Public License, FrostWire is free software.

Frostwire, similar to LimeWire Pro, connects to 4 ultrapeers. The Non-pro version of LimeWire only connects to 3. This means that both Limewire Pro and Frostwire have faster download speeds and broader search results. FrostWire is a fork of the very popular LimeWire PRO Gnutella/Bittorrent client. The purpose of FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw.
